Have you ever noticed that a lot of Major League Baseball players are Hispanic? Do you know the country of origin for any of those players? Click on the following link http://www.hispaniola.com/dominican_republic/info/society_baseball.php to read a little bit about baseball in the Dominican Republic. After you read the article, research more about how baseball came to the Caribbean and answer the following questions: 1) What 2 Caribbean nations have a great passion for baseball, even more so than the United States? 2) What group brought baseball to these countries (be specific, I don’t want to just know what country introduced the sport). 3) Research the roster of the Detroit Tigers and tell me if any of their players are from a Spanish-speaking country. Who are they and where are they from?
